Lettice Rabbit at The Café de Paris London!
There is an exciting event coming up for me, Lettice and the very talented people at Kingfisher Press. It’s all happening at the Café de Paris, London on November 13th 2018. The reason is that my book, ‘Lettice Ballet Practice’ has been shortlisted for a Print Solutions Award!
Nina at Kingfisher entered the competition in the Digital Section sponsored by Premier Paper back in August and we are delighted to be voted one of the three nominees in our category. You can view the awards and vote here: www.earthisland.co.uk/solutions-awards
Good luck to everyone at the awards!
Arty Mouse at the Storm of Stories Festival
Arty Mouse and I will be part of the storm of Stories Festival on Thursday 28th April. Come along to Aldeburgh Library (10:30-11:30) and Leiston Library (1.30-2.30)
Pens and paper will be provided – just bring your creativity 🙂
Progressive Preschool Awards Winner
The Progressive Preschool Awards ceremony was held at The Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane, London on November 12th 2015.
Simon Couchman, creative director at TopThat Publishing and I attended this super event and I’m thrilled to say Arty Mouse – Creative Series won the prize for the publishing category. It is an honour to win this prize and I hope that many young children will be entertained and inspired by the teeny tiny, but very ‘arty,’ Arty Mouse!
Draw: Roo the Dinosaur!
For anyone who would like to find out about how to draw Roo, a little dinosaur character we meet for the first time in the picture book story ‘Roo The Roaring Dinosaur’ – written by David Bedford, the Guardian online has featured a sequence of my illustrated instructions. Have a go… drawwwwww!
Dulcie’s Dolls
Dulcie sent me this photograph of some of her creations. Here we can see three wonderful hand-made cloth dolls.
Dulcie has styled them all with great attention to detail. I love the multi-coloured wools that she has used for the mermaids’ hair.
From left to right we have: Cascada, Lottie and Tallulah – I think they are inspirational for making new picture book characters!
Looking forward to seeing what you make next.
Guest blog at the Picture Book Den
Recently, I was invited to be a guest author/illustrator on The Picture Book Den – a blog site created by a group of professional, UK based, children’s authors. Here you can read my blog post all about the books I read and loved as a child and how much they continue to influence my work today.
Also, there are lots of other posts from wonderful authors and illustrators all passionate about books.
